Head Coach

George Hernandez, has been named head basketball coach for the American Basketball Association Stockton ROKITS Team Trouble. Hernandez has a wealth of coaching experience. Hernandez was the associate head coach at Folsom Lake College and former head Varsity boys coach at Rio Linda High school. Hernandez has 16 years of experience as a basketball coach, including 12 as an assistant coach at the college level for Napa Valley college, San Joaquin Delta College and William Jessup University (2005-15), head Varsity coach at Rio Linda High School (2015-17) and Associate Head coach at Folsom Lake College. In his 12 years as an assistant at the college level Hernandez has accumulated 5 conference championships and 7 playoff appearances. Primary responsibilities included on-court coaching, player development, recruiting and scouting. He was also involved with the program’s off-season strength and conditioning program.

Hernandez prior to coaching at Folsom Lake College completed two years as the Varsity boys head coach at Rio Linda High School (2015-17). While at Rio Linda Hernandez’s team won two back to back TCC league championships and made it to the post season each of the two years and qualified for the California state tournament in 2017. Hernandez had a combined record of 42-16 in his two year stint at Rio Linda.

Coach Hernandez played at Cabrillo College and was an all conference player. Hernandez completed a Bachelor of Arts at Sacramento State University. He currently resides in Roseville with his wife Bridget and their two children Sienna (6) and Nehemiah (3).
